Hello World! I don't know if anyone is still even checking this! I hope some of you are! We miss everyone terribly. This last month without any contact has been rough. The boys and I are really looking forward to catching up! I can't wait to hear about first days of school and the end of everyone's summer. It might take me a few days, but I'm going to try to respond to all my emails that are sitting in my inbox.
I hope soon to have an entry for each one of us and what we've been doing for the last month, as well as our first impressions. But, for now, here are a few pictures of our apartment and some of what we've been up to. I'm having some trouble moving them around and am too tired to mess with it, so they're labeled, but not in any order.
The first few weeks of August is a huge celebration for Geneva. They end it with an hour long fireworks display to music, over the lake. We weren't close enough to hear the music and the fireworks still scared the boys, but they ask for more every time we're downtown now.
The boys finally got their first bikes! :-) I got them from a family that is heading back to the states in a city not far, but not convenient without a car. Xavier rode Ezekiel's to Daddy's work (because it had training wheels) and Ezekiel had some help riding Xavier's. Both bikes have training wheels now, but Ezekiel prefers to just walk his. I also had them wearing helmets for the big ride all the way back home.
Xavier has really gotten into spelling. He loves to spell everyone's name. Eventually he'll figure out that in english we spell from left to right, but right now, this is cute.
The boys are so excited that we brought Thomas. They've been pretty happy to see anything that came from home, but Thomas has bought me several hours of uninterupted time to work on the apartment.
This is right outside our window! There's a playground in the background, but there's also tons of green space for Daddy and his boys to play football.
Again, I'm too tired to remember how to turn this, but the boys have bunk beds. They are very excited about them!
At the Fetes de Geneve, the boys rode their first roller coaster. As you can imagine, it was pretty exciting. :-)
The boys took their first train ride to IKEA. Ezekiel was not pleased that he had to stop looking out the window for a picture.
Sorry about the sideways, I might eventually fix it. But, this is the boys watching the fireworks.
